Check in
Meaning:
To register at a hotel or airport.
When you check in or check into a hotel or clinic, or if someone checks you in, you arrive and go through the necessary procedures before you stay there.
Example:
You need to check in at least two hours before the flight.
Once we've checked in and dropped off our luggage, we'll meet you in the lobby.
Check out
Meaning:
To leave a hotel and pay the bill.
To find out if something is correct, or if someone is acceptable.
Example:
We checked out of the hotel early in the morning.
The police are checking out his alibi.
We'll have to check him out before we employ him.
Get in
Meaning:
To enter a car or taxi.
To succeed in entering a place, especially by using force or a trick.
Example:
He got in the taxi and headed to the airport.
They must have got in through the bathroom window.
Get out
Meaning:
To leave a car or taxi.
To leave or go out of a place.
Example:
We got out of the cab and walked to the hotel.
You should to get out of the house more.
Hold up
Meaning:
To delay someone or something.
To stop / delay someone for a moment.
Example:
We were held up by heavy traffic.
You can go if you want to - don't let me hold you up.
Take off
Meaning:
To leave the ground (for planes).
To leave a place, especially in a hurry.
Example:
The plane took off at 8 PM.
When he saw me coming he took off in the opposite direction.

Structure of Phrasal Verbs:
Verb + Preposition
Example: Look after some text
Meaning: To take care of someone or something.
Sentence: "I need to look after my younger brother today."
Verb + Adverb
Example: Give up some text
Meaning: To stop doing something.
Sentence: "She decided to give up smoking."
Verb + Adverb + Preposition
Example: Get away with some text.
Meaning: To escape punishment for something.
Sentence: "He got away with cheating on the test."
